Take Action!
By: Nina Mistier
Many of us were raised believing our lives are predestined; that nothing we do matters
because the end result will be the same and we have no hand in the outcome. Though
there may be lessons to learn and obstacles to overcome, you still get to choose how
you respond to life. Everyone experiences hardship and loss at some point in life, but
how you handle these is your choice and the determinant of your future happiness. Are
you a fighter or are you a victim? It takes the same amount of energy to fight as it does
to give up!
Many people are experiencing job losses and great life changes which can be
frightening. How you respond to these changes can affect your future. There are those
who get out there, do their best and walk into businesses with their resumes in hand and
there are those who take the victim’s role and hide behind their computers and say why
me? It is fine to question why something happened, but don’t get caught up in the
philosophy and forget about the action. Whatever happens, put your best foot forward.
There is no person so sure that anything or any person in their lives will be there
forever. Life changes and we must change with it; we must be flexible and roll with
life. There are great and terrible moments and we must experience each of these, but
always choose to come back to your center.
It is important to go quiet and reflect on your life; revel in the goodness and give thanks
for it and recognize the sadness knowing that it is passing and you will be happy again.
This is your life and you get to choose whether to be an active or passive participant.
Always choose to take action!
