MOBILE CONSTRUCTION
Stainless Steel: for the arms.
Colored Plastic for most bases and petals

My designs are original like no other, each made one at a time just for you.  All pieces are
handsigned by me and year made, name stamped into plastic (rollover right photo for close up
view). Please note that all of my mobiles and stabiles are handmade of eco-friendly colored plastics
for the petals and stabile bases (plastic manufactured in Germany) and beautiful shiny stainless
steel (USA).

Every mobile is made made by hand one at a time, and not mass produced or computer laser cut.
Each petal piece is chosen by hand, cut, hand sanded and beveled (edges of the plastic) and then
buffed to a shine (my husband Brian "the master polisher" helps with this part). Polishing the edges
takes time and with skilled expertise, resulting in fine artisian quality craftmanship, made by hand,
one at a time, and never mass produced. I hand drill holes, hand form all stainless steel rods, cutting
and balancing all by hand, matching exact measurements to one of my designed artworks.

My plastic and stainless steel combination is perfect indoors or out - they are rust free and weather
durable. Note: the color red is the only plastic color that is sensitive to full direct sunlight ...it will fade
slightly in 3 years. I offer 21 custom colors for you to choose from.Click the colors logo

Artist Statement

Having both parents (Donald and Barbara Frith) as professional artists in the art
world influenced me early in life to appreciate modern art, design and structure.
Ever since I was a child, I have always had an admiration for Alexander Calder and
his art mobiles and paintings. After personally viewing his work in museums and art
galleries around the world, I was intrigued by his balance of shapes and design.I
started making mobiles in the late 1960's for fun as a kid. I have learned to make
my own style of mobile art: I work with a plastic medium that I have found to be light
in weight, colorful and very durable. Calder made his mobiles with metals, I felt as a
woman this was too heavy for me to manipulate. I also felt plastics were clean, fun
to look at, modern and different. The internet has made a new world for me. I work
everyday on my website, updating, taking new photos, and corresponding daily
with my clients. The majority of my work is shown in private homes, but I do have
some in galleries, hospitals, corporate businesses and science museums. Making
mobiles makes me happy, and I hope when you see them, you get this uplifting
spirit too! Feel free to go to my website to view my latest work. as always...enjoy!

Lustron
Mobiles by Julie Frith .... in a new fun material.... soft EVA FOAM (Ethylene Vinyl
Acetate). My Foamobiles come in any color, so feel free to custom color. All petals
are handcut (not mass produced or lazer cut) and I use stainless steel bars
polished to a shine which will never rust.  Foamobiles are made a soft plastic, that's
durable, people-friendly, non-toxic, environmentally safe, and perfect for a baby's
room. Note: Always hang out of baby's reach, mobiles are not toys...but art to look
and blow at.
