"Holding It On"-Jillian Ann
She looked at me "are you breathing" of course I am . Then while in one of my moments I remembered my appointment
for microscopy " it looks like your cells are lacking oxygen " I looked at my healer puzzled "how is that possible" . A few
weeks later she gave me a book on breathing, as a singer I know a little about breathing I learned some from meditation
and yoga but it was becoming clear something was trying to tell me I wasn't breathing ...
A few days ago I picked up the book she gave me and landed on a page all about how in western culture many of us hold
our breath because we have been taught having a tummy at all is bad ...
One morning M said your tummy is sexy I looked at her like she was crazy but then it clicked it all clicked I am one of
those .
First I was a ballet dancer and no tummy was allowed then a model and well you can NEVER be too thin as a model so
even at 100 pounds I was sucking in my stomach all the time when eating making love singing all the time .
Samuel my massage / body worker was working on me and touch my tummy " too hard and you have knots in your
tummy " now Samuel is very intuitive which is why he is my body worker the next week he looked at me " you model
right you danced you have been trained to suck in all the time "
Then since everything in the universe was screaming at me to let go to breathe I did some research and found out a few
things
Holding in your tummy all the time makes it impossible to lose weight easily . Holding your tummy in and not letting go
makes sex far less fun . Not breathing keeps you from digesting your food doesn't help your organs much less your mind .
Living life half asphyxiated is not living and so despite my programing I have for the last few days been trying to be more
and more of a few things
Am I breathing
Am I sucking in all the time
Am I breathing
I have found that half of the time I am not breathing and I am sucking in which is not good for me won't help me stay thin
much less accomplish anything if I starve my brain of oxygen. Then I watched G even he does the same thing . How
many of us are hurting ourselves by holding our breath making it harder to think to lose weight to be healthy relaxed or
focused ?
Chances are many if us .. I am going to work to reprogram myself to breath during work working out singing traveling
shooting sex and being here .
Breath connects us to the here and now and with out bring connected we aren't here
Time to breath again
