| Photographer Sara Louise Petty |
Sara Louise Petty is a New York based photographer,
fashion designer and mother.
Growing up in rural England with a father with a keen interest in painting and
photography, she picked up a camera at a young age and was experimenting with
slide film. Years later - after a successful career in fashion - Sara bought another
film camera, a plastic toy Holga and started to experiment in analog photography.
Although the Holga produced (and still produces) some of her most moving
images she moved onto 35mm and medium format cameras. She feels that digital
photography is too instant; preferring to savor the process with film and develop
her own negatives. Sara loves the romance of film.
Sara focuses on street photography and street portraiture - capturing an
unwitting subject and stealing a moment. She's enjoyed great conversations,
touching moments and endured some confrontations and always comes back for
more.
