We welcome Cynthia Wick's return to the East and are pleased to announce her first New York exhibition at ART 101.

A native of California, Wick came to New York after college and studied at Parsons, The Art Students League and the
School of Visual Arts. In 1986 she moved back to California to work in the movie business, but painting was never far
from her heart. While in LA, she studied with Joseph Mendez and George Small. She has exhibited her work in
California; she was a contributing illustrator to the New York Times op-ed page from 1980 to 1990 and her paintings
have been featured in the movie IT'S COMPLICATED and will also be seen in the upcoming SPIDERMAN movie.

Wick's profound love of light and color emanates from her stunning canvases, enveloping the viewer in the moment.

"I have always been an artist...When the light hits an object in a certain way, the sun on a hill, the pink reflected light
under a chin, the violet in a shadow, I need to paint it...My main focus as a painter is to capture the emotion in what I
see."

The opening reception is on February 11, from 6 to 9 pm.

Our hours are Friday through Monday from 1 to 6 pm and we are also available by appointment: 718-302-2242.

The gallery is wheelchair accessible.
