Growing up in rural Connecticut Valley, I very quickly gravitated toward Drawing & Painting especially
after winning regional art contests as early as age 11. My career choice became thus somewhat
obvious so after high school I began study formally at Paire School of Art where my greater interests
centered on Drawing & Painting backed up with bread and butter courses in Technical Illustration &
Drafting.
Frustrated by being called an Elitist and suffering the shock of plagiarism. after a time and short on funds I left
school to join Action Vista, and do my part for the Great Society, in those liberal years. Thus immediately following
a double term to resolve my angst I returned to my education but this time majoring in Multi Media Photography at the Art
Institute of Pittsburgh, pledged to a social commitment specializing in Photo-Journalism & Social Documentary.
After my studies and in light of this country’s declined interest in social reform, I joined the usual throngs of
starving artists doing other work for income but at the same time studying Western Chancery from an
etymological or evolutionary point of view, rather than the notion of being expressive or creative associated
with the modern school of calligraphy. This too proved not the ideal approach to the quest for income, often enough
led to controversy, but eventually I did gained the attention of regional scribal societies, and first honors at juried exhibits
for the Smithsonian National Postal Museum.
To this day I still find myself doing odd jobs from teaching Chess & Go to managing internet cafes, none the
less I refresh myself by hiking the metro area in search of every photographic adventure I can find. This to
continue an exploration of myself and the world around me. Hope that you can enjoy the muse.
