The Teachers Are In trouble" is a childrens book with a twist and it will make you roll on the floor with laughter.  So good
infact, that adults are actually buying it for themselves and don't want to share it with their own children.  Released just in
time for Christmas, making this a swell gift for children.
We also have three random poems granted by the author himself, to share with TNYO readers.

The teachers are as naughty as the kids in Matt Butler’s poetry collection The Teachers Are In Trouble And Other Rhymes. The 39
poems are illustrated by David Jarvis, whose art perfectly suits the humorous rhymes, covering everything from homework and detention
to school sport.

Matt Butler was born in Melbourne, Australia. He was first drawn to writing in primary school, but decided to seriously dedicate himself
to writing when he was in year ten.

When he finished studying Matt began to write a series of compelling short stories about struggling individuals and their desire to find
meaning in their lives. The stories were for an older audience and became the book Love And Loss, which was published by Trafford in
early 2008.

Matt then started to write children’s poetry and some of his poems were eventually gathered into the collection, The Teachers Are In
Trouble And Other Rhymes. His friend David Jarvis illustrated the book, which was published by Trafford in August 2009.

Matt also helped write the script for David’s short film, On Guard, which was shown at ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image)
in December.

Matt continues to write and is working on a second and third volume of children’s poetry.

Alphabet Soup

I had alphabet soup today,
and decided to eat school.
Mum said I shouldn’t,
but I thought it would be cool.

When I found an S,
I gulped it down with glee,
Then I stirred around
and quickly found a C.

H was devoured next,
and the O’s were soon to follow.
After I’d eaten them,
there was one letter left to go.

The search took quite a while,
but then I found the L.
I put the letter in my mouth
and munched it up as well.

‘I have eaten my school!’
But too soon did I shout.
School disagreed with me,
so school came right back out.

The End of School

School had finally finished,
and the teachers went nuts.
Frankly I was really surprised
that they even had the guts.

They jumped on top of tables,
and popped open champagne.
Some were even shouting,
‘I’ll never see you again!’

They threw books out windows,
and swung from the fans.
None of us could quite believe,
they’d broken school bans.

But we didn’t know what to do,
so we just sat and stared.
They then set off fireworks;
so they’d really come prepared!

When the party came to an end,
I thought it had been great.
The best thing that I learnt all year
was how to celebrate.

The Complaint

Dear Santa,

I would like to make a complaint,
because my present was really bad.
You might think I'm ungrateful,
but I have a good reason to be mad.

The elf that packed my present
should never have been hired.
He really ruined my Christmas,
so I believe he should be fired.

To make up for my suffering
you should send me another toy.
I don't need this silly doll,
and that's because I am boy.
