| From Aussie Farmer To US Dance Star Nigel Ficke |

Meet Nigel Ficke, an Aussie country boy from Perth, Australia, now residing in the LA-burbs.
The inspired dancer decided a few years back, that it was time for him to give up his farm
and pet Roo, for a shot in the LA spotlight.
Like many starving artist, it came at a price, you just take what you can get! For Nigel that was spinning signs in the Valley, hardly glamorous, but it
paid the bills.
But It was Nigel’s free spirit, hard work and determination that has recently seen him rise to stardom, after performing as a contestant for the Electric
Daisy Carnival (EDC) auditions, he has literally reached a quarter of a million hits on YouTube in less than a fortnight, not only making him an online
sensation but somewhat of an Icon.
Though Nigel is really no overnight star, what you don’t know is, he has been in the making for 30 years!!!! Ficke can thank his intensive dance
programmes for where he is today, and let’s just say, thank god he was persistent.
Nigel’s “White Hot Moves” that consist of pelting pelvic thrusts, will definitely have you on a carnival ride and enjoying the explosions, which are
executed by the dance master himself when shooting rainbow laser beams out of his crotch.
Yet let’s not neglect, Ficke’s unique Bogan persona that has also captured our hearts. His glossy locks, chiselled physique and a style I believe to be
crossed between a rock star and a shimmering mermaid will have your clothes sizzle right off.

Kaliopy: You seem like a hard working citizen, how where you paying your bills before entering EDC?
Nigel: Most definitely hard working, I used to be a Roo tail farmer, they grow straight out of the ground and they're really hard to pull, then I
moved to Hollywood where I'm staying at a travellers hostel while working in the valley spinning signs for advertisement, it’s not the best
paying job at $3 an hour but sometimes I get lucky and someone throws a soda at me.
Kaliopy: How has this instant fame shaped you since becoming an online sensation?
Nigel: Well mate, it’s really hard to keep a cool head around all this madness but in a way I can finally share the fame I've been enjoying in
my head, with the public. Not much has changed day to day except Bill Cosby sent me a letter to put a shirt on and have some respect for
myself and I do yoga with Russel Crowe now on the weekdays.

Nigel: Oye definitely, I have been dancing since I was a wee lil roo, that's when I began and intensive thirty
year program developing the white hot moves you have come to know and love. Also I spent 8 years of
intensive training at Step up dance academy and Steven's Dance Academy where I finetuned my talents to
laser perfection.
Kaliopy: Your moves are quite comical and have us all in stitches, how did you manage to pull
off the entire audition without breaking a smile?
Nigel: What do you mean comical?
Kaliopy: OH.....My Bad.....OK, Moving right along then.
One of your favourite passions is sweating, tell us what that means to you, maybe you like to
take saunas?
Nigel: Sweating is a crucial part of my life, you can't just channel all of that energy in and not let any out,
and yes I take saunas regularly, my tights are actually retro fitted to be a sort of portable walk in sauna.
That way I can sweat even if I’m not dancing, besides, nothing highlights the chiselled statuesque physique
that I have better than a thin glaze of moisture
Nigel: Oye definitely, I have been dancing since I was a wee lil roo, that's when I began and intensive thirty
year program developing the white hot moves you have come to know and love. Also I spent 8 years of
intensive training at Step up dance academy and Steven's Dance Academy where I finetuned my talents to

in peak conditioning, my rock hard abs can be attributed to my two hour a day didgeridoo
sessions, yes I play the didgeridoo I know its cliché but I was first chair in the Perth children's
aboriginal orchestra, (where I constantly felt like an outsider). Also, I just got a vhs of this
crazy new fitness called Tai Bo so I may give that a try.
Kaliopy: How is the future looking for Nigel Ficke after the ECD auditions, can we
expect to see more of you?
Nigel: Well y'know I don't want to be a fly by night success like say your Paul McCartney’s
and your David Bowies. I'm going for longevity here so I’m planning out my post EDC
schedule very carefully, I can definitely see winning an Oscar and taking my YouTube prize
money and starting a Dance academy of my own for under privileged Moldovan children,...
what's that, there is no YouTube prize money? and they don't give Oscars for viral videos?
