CAJA : Group Art Show for 423WEST Gallery ‘s 1yr Anniversary Celebration

The CAJA Show, Spanish for "Box,” promises to reveal itself to you like that unexpected gift, wrapped in paper and ribbon. Boxes serve
many functions, not the least of which the ability to keep their contents a mystery.
Featured artists include Albert Montoya, Jessica Ward, Angie Mason, Jeremy Cross, Apricot Mantle, Jophen Stein, Archer Dougherty,
KRK Ryden, Ashley Fisher, Lara Dann, Aunia Khan, Marnie Pitts, Black Mass, Monty Montgomery, Chris Mars, Nichole Bruckman,
Christopher Umana, Paul Torres, Cory Benhatzel, Rachel M. Bray, Dave MacDowell, Richard J. Frost, Drew Wootten, Rich Beaupre,
Heather Gargon, Ryan Myers, Ian Ward, Scott Holloway, Jaclyn Alderette, Susan Apgar, Jasmine Worth, Stephen Umana, Jeanie Lynn
Paske, Teod Tomlinson, Terry Ribera, and Matjames Metson to be added .
These are all new works by some of the best artists around. The concept is centered around the idea of “the box” and its unknown
contents. These images evoke the both the unknown and the inexplicable; the thought provoking and contemplative aspects of the craft.
Rick Beaupre: “From the simple box is born a whole world as different from each artist as his or her own fingerprint.” Aunia Khan:
“Everyone is made up of little boxes and in each is a stored secret to who we were or what we shall become.”
This show, curated by Christopher Umana and Jennifer Mullins, will begin at 6PM on July 27 at 423 West Gallery just south of
