MAY 17th Labyrinth returns to work again with Downtown Music Productions in No Way Out But Through a commissioned dance and music work by Labyrinth Dance Theater's artistic director and choreographer, Sasha Spielvogel and composer David Majzlin. scored for soprano, flute, violin, cello, piano Sunday, May 17th @ 3PM St. Mark's in the Bowery 131 East 10th Street & 2nd Avenue Suggested Donation: $10.00 with dancers Felicia Norton & Dante Adela A man is on the brink of despair. The Substances he has used to mask his pain are not working anymore. A guardian angel brings him on the journey to face his addictions, so he can live from his heart and not through his fear. This year's collaboration is part of a "Charles Ives Birthday Celebration" and Mimi Stern-Wolfe's ongoing eclectic music series at St. Mark's Church. The Ives' songs Two Little Flowers (1921) and The Cage (1906) contrast freedom and innocence with the restrictions of life. These precede No Way Out But Through. The Program also featuresIves' Violin Sonatas #2 and #4,performed by Mimi Stern-Wolfe, piano Marilyn Dubow, violin and includes America Variations and He is There (1917) with Mary Hurlbut, soprano Andrew Bolotowsky, flute |
