RADIOHEAD
"Airbag"
In the next world war
In a jackknifed juggernaut
I am born again
In the neon sign
Scrolling up and down
I am born again
In an interstellar burst
I am back to save the universe
In a deep deep sleep of the innocent
I am born again
In a fast german car
I'm amazed that I survived
An airbag saved my life
In an interstellar burst
I am back to save the universe
In an interstellar burst
I am back to save the universe
Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The band consists of Thom Yorke
(lead vocals, rhythm guitar, piano, beats),
Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboard, other
instruments),
Ed O'Brien (guitar, backing vocals, effects), Colin Greenwood (bass guitar, synthesizers)
and
Phil Selway (drums, percussion).

Radiohead released their first single, "Creep", in 1992. The song was initially unsuccessful, but it became a worldwide smash hit several
months after the release of their debut album,
Pablo Honey (1993). Radiohead's popularity rose in the United Kingdom with the release of
their second album,
The Bends (1995). The band's textured guitar parts,Yorke's beautifully haunting falsetto voice, and lyrics that explore the
inner workings of the human condition, were warmly received. Critics and fans alike started to take notice, that this band from England had
much to offer, and was not just a one hit wonder.
Radiohead's milestone third album,
OK Computer (1997), propelled them to greater international fame. Considered to be a concept
album, with songs featuring expansive multi-layered sound, dreamy electonic textures and themes of
modern alienation, OK Computer has
been universally acclaimed as a landmark record of the 1990s, and one the best and most influential albums of all time.Winning a Grammy
for best alternative album, while also being up for album of the year.

Kid A (2000),nominated for album of the year, and Amnesiac (2001) marked an evolution in Radiohead's musical style, as the group
expanded there sound deeper into experimental electronic music,
post-punk and jazz influences.  Hail to the Thief (2003), a mix of
guitar-driven rock, electronics and lyrics inspired by political headlines, was the band's final album for their major record label, EMI.
Radiohead independently released their seventh album,
In Rainbows (2007),turning the music industry on its ear,for its marketing of the
record. Originally offered as a digital download for which each customer could set their own price. It was later released in stores, to critical
and chart topping success.Garnering a third album of the year nomination, and again winning a Grammy  for alternative album of the year.

Radioheads' work has appeared in a large number of listener polls and critics' lists. In 2005, Radiohead were ranked number 73 in Rolling
Stone's list of "the greatest artists of all time". While the band's later albums have brought them a wider audience, their earlier sound on The
Bends and OK Computer have had a huge influence on rock music in recent years. Spawning the likes of Coldplay and Muse, among others.

Catching one of Radioheads' concerts is a must see for any music fan,or musician, as some of there live shows have become legendary. Few
musical groups have such a devoted and rabid fan base. They are consistently creating new sounds and pushing the envelope into unexplored
musical territory. In the process, Radiohead have become one of the most respected, artistic, and influential musical groups of all time.
